Software Engineer – Automation

both depth and breadth.
A large part of bringing a new chip to market are the numerous test and characterization activities
that happen once parts are received from the fab. The magnitude of these activities requires them to
be fully automated. In this position the successful candidate will build Taalas’ lab automation
infrastructure for controlling laboratory instruments, orchestrating regression testing, streamlining
data collection and analysis, and generating comprehensive reports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain Python/ C++ infrastructure to automate test setup, data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Develop software interfaces and protocols to automate measurements and data acquisition with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DAQs.
- Implement robust data management solutions to efficiently handle large volumes of test data generated during characterization and validation activities, including data storage, retrieval, processing, and visualization.
- Ensure reliability, accuracy, and scalability of the automation tools by implementing thorough testing strategies
- Continuously identify opportunities to optimize and streamline full system testing and validation workflows through automation and process standardization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, or Electrical/Computer engineering
- Strong knowledge of Python and C++
- Experience with using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DAQs and basic lab equipment
- Experience with chip bring-up and characterization
- Familiarity with monitoring and visualization tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
